Nov 07, 2023 The interview was with Southern Airways. The interview was short and sweet. There were a couple of questions that came out of FIA written. ( Lift/Drag Max was one answer) They offered me Surf Mobility upon successful (HR) interview with their management. I had previous experience with customers first-hand with my previous job. That went a long way. I was offered the job with Surf Air, but afterward was offered PIC in the Caravan. The need is in the Caravan at the moment. So I took that... Jul 26, 2023 This review is for Advanced Air based in Hawthorne, CA - the entire process (4 out of 5 steps) took about six weeks. Everybody at AA was very pleasant and professional throughout the experience. The initial HR phone interview covered broad strokes; applicant background with some follow-up questions about education, work history and information about the company. After that was the online assessment - this is a timed test with mostly multiple choice questions, but also math, problem... Continue reading this interview experience

There is a HR phone screen, an in person panel interview and a sim eval. The HR phone screen is just general tell me about yourself, total time, why you like advanced, air etc. After that phone call, there is an online test that is very long and you probably won't be able to finish. The in person panel interview is with various pilots (lots of IFR stuff). The sim is in a redbird which is a G1000. Will do approaches, holds, checklists,... Overall a great application process. Everyone involved from Advanced Airlines was very helpful and provided a lot of good info about the company along the way. To help prepare, make sure to rehearse and practice answers to various TMAAT questions (When you struggled with a student or co-pilot, when you failed a checkride, etc.). As for the panel interview and final interview with the Chief Pilot, make sure to study IFR regs for Part 91, as well as Chapter 5 of the... Continue reading this interview experience

The interview was with Advanced Air, Part 135 Operator for Surf Air. Telephone interview was straight-forward with a pilot/HR person. Your path to the in-person interview may vary depending if someone walked in a resume, sent it to a chief pilot or sent it to HR. I applied and updated a few times. Eventually, I had a 15-20 minute phone screening with one of the assistant chief pilots.   The majority of the phone screen was going into my background. There was only one technical question.  The ACP forwarded my stuff to Santa Monica recruiting. I was contacted by a recruiter and it was a similar... Continue reading this interview experience
