Amerijet Pilot Interview:

Sent in the resume Thursday, was called the following Monday for an interview set on that Thursday. One week from date resume was sent in. All others at interview were also given only a day or two notice.

I live locally, so no travel or hotel was needed. All other interviewees were also from area except one.

Arrived at AeroServices at 9:00am for 9:30 interview. Interview started on time. We were told to bring copy of updated resume plus licenses and medical. Should also bring copy of passport and social security card. We were first given application package to complete. You should bring addresses and telephone numbers of prior jobs, all schools attended, and three references. Next we were given a 15 question test to complete. This test is general aviation knowledge.

While we were completing the application, we were taken one at a time to interview. Interview is with one HR person, Chief Pilot and one line pilot. Why Amerijet, Do long hours bother you, hardest decision in cockpit?, why left prior jobs, questions on a prior aircraft, what makes a good captain, etc...

Take 10 minute break, meet about 1:00pm for a 727 simulator ride, one at a time. Sim session is very quick. Captain handles power, config, etc. You takeoff, climb to 5000, turn direct to VOR, hold, exit for vector to final, ILS full stop.

Break for lunch about 2:00pm. Meet back at 3:30 at Amerijet offices at MIA for drug test, fingerprints, photos for IDs, and three psyc tests. Finished at 5:00, just in time for rush hour traffic back home.

Chief Pilot called Monday night to offer class date. date was for one week later. Was also given option to skip indoc, so I could give two weeks notice, and make up after systems class.
