Read Page 1 ... it was short, it still felt meaningful because it gave me a chance to make a first impression and demonstrate my communication skills. After asking me a few questions, the recruiter took the time to explain the rest of the hiring process in detail. She outlined what the next steps would be, what to expect moving forward, and how I would be contacted if I was selected to continue. I appreciated how clear and organized the explanation was, as it helped reduce any uncertainty about what was coming next. Because this was only the initial stage, I did not meet any other applicants directly. However, through a group that I am part of, I learned that there were many other applicants going through the same process at the same time. Seeing posts and discussions from others gave me an idea of how competitive the position was and how many people were interested in applying. While this did make me slightly nervous, it also motivated me to take the process seriously and put my best foot forward.
The tone of the interview was very friendly and relaxed. The woman conducting the phone interview was polite, welcoming, and easy to talk to, which immediately helped calm my nerves. She clearly explained each question before asking it, so I always understood what she was looking for in my responses.
