Interview Experiences From TradeWind Aviation Pilot Interviews :

  1. 1.  (Oct 22, 2025) The HR interview went as expected. They asked questions about flight time, goals, and why Tradewind. The technical portion was rather unstructured compared to how I run the tech interviews at my current company. They gave me a ATIS and clearance to copy. The ATIS was missing temp/dewpoint and Altimeter setting. The craft was Logan 4 departure out of BOS to a fix and then as filed. They asked questions about how I would depart and what happened if I lost comms. Easy questions for an... Continue reading this interview experience..

  2. 2.  (Aug 01, 2025) Pretty much followed everyone else's responses! HR interview was very straight forward on my background, hours, and "why Tradewind?". Technical interview was IFR heavy but also quite straight forward. Touched on six-pack stuff, alternates, taking off out of uncontrolled fields, departure procedures, climb gradients, and chart symbology. Also a few scenario based questions that were external pressure aligned ie important client but not enough fuel, Captain comes in drunk. Desktop sim is now a... Study Guide Questions for Your TradeWind Aviation Interview:

  1. 1. (Nov 24, 2025) Tell me about the pitot static system?
    • The pitot-static system provides airspeed, altitude, and rates of climb and descent on the airspeed indicator, altimeter, and vertical speed indicator, respectively. There is a pitot tube that collects both dynamic and static pressure air and static ports that collect only static pressure air. The airspeed indicator relies on the air that enters both the pitot tube and the static port, while the altimeter and vertical speed indicator use only the air that enters the static ports. The air pressure will interact with diaphragms and wafers inside of each instrument, causing the needles of the instrument to move to show the current indicated airspeed, altitude, and vertical speed of the airplane. There is also usually an alternate static source in the flight deck, which can be used if the static ports become blocked; the venturi effect causes instruments to provide slightly higher indications due to the lower pressure inside of the flight deck, so calibration tables must be used to make corrections.
