For starters, I did the interview for high time First Officers and every one I interviewed with was also a high time FO. I was fortunate enough to have a pilot working there write me some letters of recommendation which I believe helped me get the interview along with attending several hiring events. If called for the interview, it starts with a phone screening. Standard questions including why Horizon, some tell me about a time quesions, and they go over your time. Additionally, they want to know your 5 and 10 year plan. They have a flow with Alaska that they support so it seems ok if you say that you consider flowing but they are for sure looking for captains. Remeber every airline is looking to hire Captains so mention how you want to upgrade when you feel ready and safe to do so. Also, it is a bonus if you are willing to move to one of their bases. For the phone screening, just study the HR questions and you will be fine. If successful, they will have you work with them to set up a time for an in person interveiw were they fly you to Seattle. Very streamlined process where you can pick your own flight and the day that works best for you. The day before the interview, I flew in and stayed the night in one of the local hotels near the headquarters. The day of the interview, I walked to the headquarters, checked in with the front desk and waited with the other...

It was a good interview and laid back. I was asked to tell them about my self. A little chat about my flying experience and how I like my job/current employer. Tmaat questions followed. A challenge tmaat. A time I made a difference tmaat. A time I did something unpopular but for the right reason. A time I was creative to to solve a problem. They followed up with admin type questions and asked about check ride failure. Overall a good... -

Interview was just like what everyone said for the Experience First officer position. Pretty much you need to sell yourself, you want them to buy what youâ??re selling, be authentic but also be the one you want them to hire. There were no technical questions, only TMAAT, TMAY questions. They are looking for someone who is ready to lead but also a team player who can make decisions and be open minded to different beliefs and cultural back ground. They are big on diversity and culture and a... -

The experience was definitely aligned with previous posts so I'll offer a few other nuggets from my experience: hotel to interview is a very short walk, just keep in mind it's all uphill, nothing difficult but it was a warm morning and I worked up some sweat in my suit - the hotel shuttle can take you over if you'd prefer. Not a lot in the way of restaurants in the area so if you don't have transportation either plan on eating at the hotel or ordering. The process is very well run and... -

The interview was in Seattle at the Alaska headquarters. The day started at 9 am with a presentation about Horizon and the benefits it offers. They then collect your document and move you to a waiting area, where you are pulled one by one to be interviewed. There were two interviews, one HR and one Chief Pilot. The interview lasted about 20 minutes, and they then stepped out of the room to deliberate and return to let you know if they were going to offer a CJO or not. They make you feel very... -

Really positive experience. Everyone you interact with is super nice. Greeted in the lobby by the recruiting team. Brought up for a 30-45 minute presentation on Horizon. After you're led to the common area where you hang until called for the interview. Each interviewee is interviewed by a panel of 3, including one pilot representative. All of the questions asked are akin to the ones found on the study guide. Just be... -

Day of interview went as previous descriptions. Interviewed for Experienced FO. Started with a 30-45 minute overview of the company and basic pay/benefits information. After a short break, during which they gave us our boxed lunches, they started taking us back for individual interviews with two hiring representatives and a base chief pilot. Don't remember getting any questions that weren't in the study guide. Ended with the standard FAA questions (mishaps/actions against you, etc) and... -

Had a quick phone interview for the Experienced FO position that resulted in an invitation to an in-person interview. The questions asked during the in-person interview align with all the questions submitted by others here. TMAY, why Horizon, TMAATs, have you ever had a disagreement with a coworker, etc. They’ll excuse themselves from the interview room for some time then return with their decision. Note: If commuting, they will send you links to make accommodations for... -

My interview process aligned almost exactly to what others have reported. I applied as an Experienced First Officer. After submitting my application, it took about 2 weeks to hear back. I was initially scheduled for a phone interview. This lasted about 25 minutes total. Phone interview questions consisted mostly of why I wanted to work for the company, where I see myself in 5-10 years, and basic FAA yes/no questions (any accidents/violations/check ride failures?). At the end of the call, I... -

Began with a short 30-minute phone screening with an HR representative reviewing over your application, hours and asking a few questions like “walk me through your career”, “why horizon?” and “what are your 5-year/10-year goals?” I was offered an in-person interview initially but had to reschedule due an illness. They provided me roundtrip flights and a hotel and provided free lunch on the day of interview. On the day of the interview, I walked from the... -

Interview was straight forward. Started by being escorted to a conference room as a group. Alaska and Horizon staff were extremely welcoming and kind. I interviewed with a group of 4 other candidates. Once in the conference room, HR collected our logbooks and took them to the chief pilot for review. Be sure to tab all check rides and endorsement for high altitude, tail wheel, high performance type things. Endorsements for check rides, training solos and writtens are not what they are talking...
