Interview was very similar to what was described. Everyone very nice and welcoming. A Kalitta shuttle picks you up at ~745 am from the Holiday Inn Express. You say a quick 'hi' to the HR room, before they bring you to an upstairs classroom which is basically the holding tank while you wait for the various parts of the interview to take place. This room was very well catered....muffins, croissants, Danishes, fruits, drinks. There were a couple HR folks who were with us the entire day, plus various Kalitta training / management people would pop in periodically to say hi and mingle. There was also a very nice catered lunch from a local sub shop that was delivered at noon. The... Continue Reading this Interview Experience

  1. Mar 10, 2020 The morning started off with a van ride at 8:30 from the hotel over to the training center. There were 9 of us total. We got there and were placed in a classroom where we were met with donuts, coffee, bottled water, and sparkling water. We were greeted by Holly and a couple other HR/management folks. We started a rotation of drug test and panel interview, taking turns.. as one would finish another would go. Then just after/during lunch they added in a brief simulator ride.  I was the... 2. Oct 17, 2019 Very straight forward. Arrive in the morning, hang out. Lots of people wander into the classroom they put you in, to answer questions. I did some prep for the test, but probably did not need to. The monkey skills portion was the only nerve racking part. Like others have said, I believe the personality test is just a requirement test due to some of the countries they fly into. Long day, but nothing difficult. Only 3 questions during the interview. If they invite you, they want you. Just... Continue reading this interview experience

  3. Sep 10, 2019 Just like the previous postings. 0800 start time, van picks you up at 0745ish takes you to the school house. They split you into two groups one does the compass testing first while the other half does the panel interview. Compass test consists of coordination exercise with a joystick, rudder pedals and keyboard to control speed while you follow a cross-pointer style flight director along with other multi-tasking tests. Other sections are memorize altitude, speed, heading and freq., 245... Continue reading this interview experience

  4. Sep 10, 2019 Got into DTW day before. Company provided room at Holiday Inn Express was waiting for me. Note: the Holiday Inn staff know why you are there. Listen to em and you may wind up with a tip or two. At the very least, you will get encouragement from them. Cool folks….a recurrent theme. Recommend getting in early enough to get try to get enough sleep for those who will be charged up over the interview. Spoiler alert: relax, they WANT to hire you, and will tell you as much. Had 19 in the... Continue reading this interview experience

  5. Sep 10, 2019 The interview was exactly as stated by other pilot applicants on this website. Best to all on Moving Forward! Kalitta Air is a Great... Continue reading this interview experience

  6. It's exactly like the others said. On your own to travel to YIP. Kalitta pays for the hotel the night before the interview. In the morning we took an aptitude, verbal reasoning, and personality test. Drug test next. Then a panel interview with HR Chief Pilot and one other person. Pretty quick Panel, basic why do you want to work here and answer the basic HR questions. It took the whole day 7am-5pm. While we waited around there were line pilots in there talking to us and they were all great... Continue reading this interview experience

  7. There were approximately 16 of us interviewing. The process is very low key. It was exactly as described by others. Panel interview (2-4 questions), Compass testing, paperwork and drug testing (not necessarily in that order). You are being observed by all employees that your interacting with throughout the day, so be friendly and be aware of what you talk about in there presence. They want you to relax but don’t get too relaxed. Great company to be a part... Continue reading this interview experience

  8. Interview was just like what everyone has posted here for the last year. PRIA paperwork, drug test, short panel interview about 10 minutes, mostly to make sure you are a good fit and know what the job is about (being out for 16 days straight). I didn't study for the testing, some of it was easy (math), personality test is like everyone else here has said, very long and made no sense. Most wore suit and tie but I and at least one other had suits but no tie. Just look professional, I... Continue reading this interview experience

  9. 3 Hour testing, short panel. Study aviation material like ATP things. Coordination test, keep the ball centered. Math, long division and multiplication by hand. Easy panel interview, they asked about past jobs, flying troubles, if I would be okay with being gone 16 days, and why I wanted to work for Kalitta Air. I was already typed in the B-777 so I did not have a choice on airplane as they are short staffed on that plane and want people who can do the B-777 short course. Laid back... 10. Interview as described before in previous posts. 12 pilots in the group and all with similiar experience levels. I did my compass test that you cant really study or prep for and felt like I didnt do well on the math or PAT. HR interview was 5 minutes and only asked 4 questions. (view the study guide of this website).I think in the end they are looking for people who you wouldnt mind to spend 16 days on the road with. Great catering and it seems like an awesome place to work if you don't... Continue reading this interview experience
