  • Technical Interview: The technical portion was very in-depth and detailed. I received 8 charts approximately one week prior to the interview. While we didn’t go over every chart during the interview, I made sure to study all of them thoroughly… be prepared to discuss any of them in detail. A few key topics and questions I was asked (beyond what’s available on the company’s website): Be familiar with the altitudes on STARs and departures. Know whether a procedure turn is required when joining an approach. Be able to use the airport diagram to determine when to begin a turn after departure from an untowered airport (follow the ODP instructions). Know how to activate a IFR flight plan from an untowered airport using information on the airport chart. Be able to identify a restricted area on a Jeppesen chart. Overall,...

Sim was straightforward. They let you fly the sim for a bit to get used to it. You fly the Morristown 7 departure off Rwy 23 and get vectored in for the ILS23 into Morristown. Then you fly the published missed, but they pause the sim and have you talk through how you'd finish flying the rest of the missed. HR portion was straightforward as well. The questions were the same as those on the study guide. There were really no gotchas at...

HR and Sim eval in Orlando. Started early around 7:30am with HR first. Review the study guide and be professional. Heavy emphasis on customer service and why Planesense. Also was given a scenario. After that sim eval with one of the chief pilots. No surprises here just have a good scan and be proficient in IFR procedures. Told we should hear back within a weeks time. Overall great experience, study hard and look...

Planesense reached out to me and let me choose out of a few days to interview on. They will email you a Microsoft teams rsvp and some jeppesen plates. Expect Departures an arrival and an approach or two. My plates consisted of a SID with an ATC required climb, two approaches one TAA and one with a LOM, and an Rnav star. The interview started with us talking about ourselves. The interviewer had me brief the approach then asked me to show her the highest obstacle. She told me I was cleared to...

Interview was as specified by AviationInterviews. All in took around 2 hours but most was waiting to get called in. HR portion was short and straight forward. (view the study guide of this website).  Sim eval was done in a 172 sim, sim was pretty awful to control and kept breaking (another reason it took so long) they gave me a bit to get used to the sim then I flew a SID and approach into Morristown. It was a good experience, if you get through the technical eval you will be just...

The Interview was straightforward, efficient, and quick. You start with a simulator or HR question session and then move on to the other. Questions were the same as those you'll find in the study guide. Then you are asked if you have any questions. The simulator session was also as advertised: ~5min of familiarization, then a simple SID, vectors for an ILS to the same runway, no runway in sight, start the missed, then it was paused, and you discussed how you would fly the missed. The whole...

    1) HR interview (view the study guide of this website).  2) Technical interview (1 of the Chief pilots) - All about Jepp Plates - Nothing tricky. Looked at SID and asked about stuff, looked at STAR and asked about stuff, looked an ILS, VOR approach and asked about stuff. 3) Sim eval - 5 minutes to fly the sim around; Then the Morristown 7 departure with a vector at the end. He reset the sim for the ILS 23 back into Morristown with VTF; at the miss, he stopped the sim and asked...

I noted here that the interview was first a technical interview that focused on Jepps charts that they give you. There were probably 30-40 questions on 4 of the 6 plates. Most of the questions are straight forward: How do you ID the FAF, MDA, etc. But they did ask a few detailed questions that, if you aren't familiar with Jepps, are difficult to anticipate. I asked a 121 pilot and a 135 pilot - both familiar with Jepp charts and instructors - to help me prepare, I reviewed the questions...

Technical Interview: They send you a handful of approach plates a few days beforehand so you have time to become familiar. HR Interview and questions, (view the study guide of this website).   Simulator Interview: Morristown 7 departure and ILS 23 back into KMMU. Simulator is configured as a 182 but I opted to fly it like a...

Started with an HR presentation for about an hour. Talking about details regarding the first officer position, and highlighting what training will look like. After was a simulator evaluation in a nearby flight school's RedBird FMX. The thing was hardly working. They give you 5 minutes to get a feel for it, use that time. Began with the MMU7 departure off of 23. Brief use of auto pilot during vectors back around to the ILS 23. No FD or autopilot can be used for the procedures, it was only...

  11. The information I was looking for regarding PlaneSense was spot on for all the areas, from HR, tech interview, sim evaluation, and interview questions.
