Read Page 1 ... base to final, since we were cleared for the RNAV (it's the IAF altitude), but they were looking for me to say that I would stay at 3,000ft and then descend to the FAF once passing the initial fix. My reasoning for descending to 2,500ft was because we were cleared for the approach, and we are about to land on a 5,700ft in a 737 - I'd rather be fully configured 3 miles before the FAF and hit that IAF altitude so I'm not rushing, not too fast on the approach, etc. However, if we're going by the book, you're supposed to stay at 3,000ft until passing the IAF since that's what ATC assigned when...

If you're an experienced pilot, this interview is more of a team-fit kind of discussion. It was all TMAAT question. A lot of the conversation led to other questions such as, "Tell us about a challenge you had a on a flight." My answer was basically dealing with a micro-managing captain in a bad mood that took it out on me. My reply was basically keeping the flight safe and worrying about getting the passengers home, then dealing with professional standards internal to the... -

Interviewers were a captain and a HR rep via MS Teams. Lasted just under an hour. Standard TMATT questions, talked about intermediate fixes and altitude crossings when cleared for an approach; times there were disagreements in the cockpit, a stressful situation, and what the weirdest experience I had in a plane... -

The interview was done on Microsoft Teams and was one person from HR and one captain, taking about 35 minutes. The majority of the interview was HR and 'get to know you' type of questions. I was asked a couple of tell me about a time questions and "Why do you want to work for Avelo?" It was formal but they were very friendly and easy to talk to, which helped calm the nerves. For the technical portion I was asked to read a lengthy METAR, then brief an approach at HVN, either the... -

Interview fell in line with most of the other interview experiences on here. Teams meeting that lasted about 45 minutes. Interview was with the head of hiring and an HR rep, both of which I had met at a conference. First they asked me for an introduction and why Avelo. I had made sure to have these pretty well thought out because it seems to be the most important questions for what they're looking for. Then they asked me about how I'd handle getting Mesa, Az as a base, and how long I'd be... -

Interview was very fair, friendly, and to the point. I did it on a teams meeting with one HR rep and a pilot. HR questions were as listed on this website, so review the study guide. I highly recommend practicing your answers ahead of time so you're not scrambling your TMAAT stories, that helped me a ton! As for technical, I briefed the approach into New Haven (I can't exactly recall which one it was). I was asked if we were flying a left downwind, assigned 3,000ft and cleared for the RNAV,... -

I was interviewed by one person from HR and one LCA via teams. We started with introductions and how I got into flying. They were very easy to talk to and it was laid back. Very basic HR questions about strengths, weaknesses, why Avelo, any failures, then TMAAT. The technical portion was RNAV 20 HVN. I was asked a few questions about minimums, holding speeds, VDP. The whole interview was about 40 minutes. They seemed to just want to make sure you would fit into the company culture and be... -

The Interview reflected the preparatory material. I was asked to read a fairly lengthy METAR and brief up an approach to KHVN on a Jepp plate. Nothing too cosmic. They asked a couple clarifying questions about my career. I didn't get any a feedback as to why it was a no, however it was my understanding that they were looking for people to fill in on their east coast domiciles and I was looking for west coast bases which were their most senior. I'm guessing this was probably the sticking... -

The interview process was just a conversation, why Avelo, prior training failures, what base you would want. They ultimately want someone who’s going to live and work in the base they get assigned as it’s mostly all turns the company does. They invited around 30 people to the interview and did not expect all to show up so it took about 8hrs to get my interview done and about half of the interviewers left by that time so my interview lasted 8mins. Majority of the debriefs as... -

Interview was at HQ in Houston. We met at the lobby and a recruiter checked us in as you enter the room. After a short brief of who was in the room, they take all the group outside and starts calling randomly 4 people at the time. Question were TMAAT, (view the study guide of this website). All short questions, no technical questions were... -

Got there and watched a company presentation. After that we were called one by one and sat down to talk to four company representatives (HR, Chief Pilot, VP Operations). Pretty straight forward, no pitfalls they just want to know you, so be yourself! Be prepared to answer why do you want to work for Avelo, thats the biggest question of the whole process, they are expecting a big grow for next years (6 - 8 airplanes per...
