FREE Kalitta Air pilot interview information and gouge

Interview was very similar to what was described. Everyone very nice and welcoming. A Kalitta shuttle picks you up at ~745 am from the Holiday Inn Express. You say a quick 'hi' to the HR room, before they bring you to an upstairs classroom which is basically the holding tank while you wait for the various parts of the interview to take place. This room was very well catered....muffins, croissants, Danishes, fruits, drinks. There were a couple HR folks who were with us the entire day, plus various Kalitta training / management people would pop in periodically to say hi and mingle. There was also a very nice catered lunch from a local sub shop that was delivered at noon. The... Continue Reading this Interview Experience

  1. Oct 19, 2020 Stayed at TownePlace hotel in Belleville, MI, company puts you up for the night but travel to MI is up to you. Fly in and out of DTW and there is a complimentary shuttle van to the hotel. Our interview session was changed to the hotel conference room due to covid issues. Free breakfast at the hotel, company paid for sandwiches for your lunch. There were 15 in our group, started with introductions, paperwork, and a briefing by the chief pilot. Everyone is friendly and that’s what they... Continue reading this interview experience

  2. Oct 06, 2020 My resume was walked in by a friend who already works at Kalitta. They called me and gave me just under 2 weeks from the call to the interview date. As mentioned before, you're on your own to get to Detroit, but once you're at the airport, they'll put you up in a hotel with a shuttle that will take you to the airport, and also get you to the airport. The dress code for the interview is business casual, but almost everyone in my interview group went full suit and tie. Many people chose to... Continue reading this interview experience

  3. Oct 06, 2020 Gouge spot on. Be prepared for extensive questions during panel interview about your background. Be honest. They want to hire you but they will not if you are not honest and they understand people have hiccups during their life's and it is how you respond that is what they are looking... 4. Oct 06, 2020 The interview consisted of two parts. A panel interview and computer testing (which takes about 3 hours). The panel interview is pretty straight forward. They made me feel relaxed and like they wanted to hire me, just be honest and be yourself. The testing is very time consuming but not too difficult if you spend some time practicing using a joystick and rudder pedals at home as well as getting up to speed on doing basic math with only a pencil and paper. Addition, Subtraction,... Continue reading this interview experience

  5. Sep 22, 2020 As previously described with the exception of us having a Compass test. This took approximately 3 hours. Sections were math (be able to to multiplication and division on paper), cognitive, multi-tasking, aviation knowledge, etc. In-person interview was very friendly and low-key.  (view the study guide of this website).  Suit and tie preferred despite what the interview email says. Masks required. Very nice people and welcoming atmosphere. No gotchas at... Continue reading this interview experience

  6. Sep 22, 2020 Kallitta books a room for you at the Holiday Inn Express in Belleville, MI the day before. I drove and did my drug testing at 1700 at a local clinic set up by Kalitta. Pick up in the lobby is at 0840. The company sends a van to pick up the group. One applicant drove his car and the 14 of us fit in both vehicles. Upon arriving, we went upstairs and had introductions from the interview team and learned about the day. The group introduced ourselves and it was quite experienced. 8 UA, 1 DL, 2... 7. Sep 01, 2020 There was 17 of us from varied backgrounds but the overwhelming majority were soon to be furloughed United and 1 AA pilot. There were also expats from Korean, Japan Air, Emirates and Etihad that had been laid off. Day started with a pick up at the hotel at 0815. No compass testing for this group as all were hand picked from internal recommendations, as well as high time and typed on at least one of Kalitta's fleet types (most had flown multiple). First off at the training center was PRIA... Continue reading this interview experience

  8. Sep 01, 2020 Long day but very nice people and laid back experience. I was asked a few HR type questions. (view the study guide of this website).  About 10 mins total for panel. A lot of wasted time waiting around for everyone to finish but great group of candidates and was easy to kill the... Continue reading this interview experience

  9. Aug 20, 2020 Just a panel interview with the Chief Pilot, assistant CP and the assistant DO. All very friendly and laid back. Started off with PRIA paperwork, application, and copies of license/documents. No technical exam, no sim for high time candidates with “Heavy”experience. They really just want to get to know you, do they want to spend 16 days on the road with you. If they call you in, they want you, it’s yours to loose, just be yourself. (view the study guide of this... Continue reading this interview experience

  10. Mar 10, 2020 The morning started off with a van ride at 8:30 from the hotel over to the training center. There were 9 of us total. We got there and were placed in a classroom where we were met with donuts, coffee, bottled water, and sparkling water. We were greeted by Holly and a couple other HR/management folks. We started a rotation of drug test and panel interview, taking turns.. as one would finish another would go. Then just after/during lunch they added in a brief simulator ride.  I was the...
