FREE Kalitta Air pilot interview information and gouge

Interview was very similar to what was described. Everyone very nice and welcoming. A Kalitta shuttle picks you up at ~745 am from the Holiday Inn Express. You say a quick 'hi' to the HR room, before they bring you to an upstairs classroom which is basically the holding tank while you wait for the various parts of the interview to take place. This room was very well catered....muffins, croissants, Danishes, fruits, drinks. There were a couple HR folks who were with us the entire day, plus various Kalitta training / management people would pop in periodically to say hi and mingle. There was also a very nice catered lunch from a local sub shop that was delivered at noon. The... Continue Reading this Interview Experience

  1. Apr 26, 2022 Very similar to all the other interviews, show up get introduced to everyone then half the group goes and takes the compass test and the other half sits around and asks questions. They go over all the paperwork stuff then one by one people go into the interview and it takes 5-10 minutes max and they just ask basic questions and any concerns they have about your background. They do lunch and switch the compass test isn't too bad I definitely would prepare for it but even if you feel like you... Continue reading this interview experience

  2. Apr 26, 2022 Absolutely fantastic group of people. Family culture. The computerized testing wasn't anything to really study for or prep for, just get a good night of sleep the night before and maybe brush up on multiplication and long division by hand. Even if you don't finish some of the portions, sounds like most people didn't. Or some people thought they did poorly on it but were hired. They know what they are looking for and want you to get hired if they bring you... Continue reading this interview experience

  3. Mar 01, 2022 If they call you for interview, it means they really want to hire you. At 8:45 am shuttle to company, your interview is started once you enter into building. They are so friendly and try the best to let you feel it’s your home. We have 18 candidates in the classroom, and each person will introduce himself/herself couple minutes to others. They are watching our interactions during Q&A and chatting. First group go to compass test, second group will be called for individual interview.... Continue reading this interview experience

  4. Feb 22, 2022 Learned about a meet and greet online, I was following Kalitta Air for news and hiring updates, emailed Kalitta and attached a resume, next day I was contacted by hiring staff, quick chat and I was invited to an interview instead of meet and greet, I prepared as usual for any interview plus study for compass test.  Flew into LAX night before, and at 10AM next day, 7 of us in attendance various back ground, all great guys, hiring manager and lead HR young lady, gave state of the airline... 5. Feb 21, 2022 It was a very relaxed interview. It was the first time they did it in LA area. Normally it's in Ypsilanti or Miami. 8 of us were there just for the interview, not the Meet and Greet that takes place later in the afternoon. Two women who run the hiring show and answer questions were there two greet us were at the head of the table. They fed us info about what was going to happen and told us more about Kalitta. It took about an hour or so after we had questions when they pulled us in one by... Continue reading this interview experience

  6. Feb 21, 2022 I was selected to attend an interview session with Kalitta Air. The Kalitta Air interview team were travelling to LAX area for an open house. In lieu of their open house several pilots living on the west coast were invited to attend an interview session. Myself and 7 other pilots attended that reside on the west coast. live in the LAX area which made it very convenient for me to attend without having to air travel. Kalitta Air provided hotel accommodations. I arrived the night before which... Continue reading this interview experience

  7. Feb 01, 2022 Great experience overall, nicest people. Great Interview! Guide was on point! Compass test was long but as long as you review basic math, and are patient not too... Continue reading this interview experience

  8. Feb 01, 2022 The actual interview part took less than five minutes. Seemed like more of a formality. The whole process took all day but there was a lot of waiting, PRIA paperwork, etc. Aviation skills test was fairly easy. Consisted of a basic computer flight simulator, basic ATP/Commercial Pilot aviation questions, and a memory exercise(altitude, speed, heading). There was also a 225 question personality test and basic English comprehension... Continue reading this interview experience

  9. Feb 01, 2022 Gouge comments are pretty much the way it occurred. Great company and great people! Computer testing was long and a pain. It would be good to brush up on basic geometry and physics and of course math and lower-level algebra. Also get used to writing quick for the HDG, ALT, FREQ... 10. Nov 17, 2021 All recent gouges are spot on. The group met at the DTW hotel and was transported to the headquarters, where we met the head of flight standards and HR team. they provided a brief overview of the company and the selection day agenda. We started with a panel interview (one by one) with DO and HR CEO deputy. Very quick interview (why you want to leave your company, any failures, a few questions about your current employer and that's it) Then we had lunch.  Afterwards, we were heading for...
