FREE Kalitta Air pilot interview information and gouge

Interview was very similar to what was described. Everyone very nice and welcoming. A Kalitta shuttle picks you up at ~745 am from the Holiday Inn Express. You say a quick 'hi' to the HR room, before they bring you to an upstairs classroom which is basically the holding tank while you wait for the various parts of the interview to take place. This room was very well catered....muffins, croissants, Danishes, fruits, drinks. There were a couple HR folks who were with us the entire day, plus various Kalitta training / management people would pop in periodically to say hi and mingle. There was also a very nice catered lunch from a local sub shop that was delivered at noon. The... Continue Reading this Interview Experience

  1. Sep 14, 2021 Really a great group of folks here. Be yourself. The group I interviewed with were typed and current in heavy, international operations. So I figured my chances were slim to none.  Study for Compass test.  But don’t sweat it, just prepare for it. The schedule is as stated prior. Group is split one half to the compass test the other to the panel interview, with lunch served in between. The panel interview was very relaxed. No gotchas. They were completely honest with all of... Continue reading this interview experience

  2. Sep 14, 2021 Purchase your own tickets to DTW, the hotel is arranged by Kalitta Air and hotel shuttle transfers you from the airport to the hotel. Group of 16 were picked up by Kalitta Air vans at the hotel that morning. Everyone in suits. Three HR personnel discuss the company, plans, improvements, and answered all of our questions. The group is split into 2 groups to start the compass test and panel interviews. Panel interview was conducted by the DO and the VP of HR. No technical questions were asked... 3. Sep 14, 2021 The interview is as advertised on this group! Super layed back group of folks over at Kalitta. I can’t say enough about their professionalism. They let you know right off the bat that they want and need to hire you! The one thing I will add is that I have been seeing a trend of everyone that was there, as well as other groups prior, all had internal recommendations. That seems to be the golden ticket to get the interview. They think very highly of their pilot group and let you know... Continue reading this interview experience

  4. Aug 26, 2021 Exactly as advertised, just remember the interview starts at the... Continue reading this interview experience

  5. Aug 10, 2021 Interview pretty straightforward or as described, but I was not selected. The in person interview is very brief, just asked a couple questions, ie checkride failures, why Kalitta, why leave your current job, which aircraft you prefer.  Met a lot of cool people. Only downside is you have to find your own way or pay your own ticket to Ypsilanti which hurts if not... Continue reading this interview experience

  6. Jul 27, 2021 Fantastic experience. Gouge is more or less accurate. Face to face interview is very short. Two or three questions give or take. Spent barely 5 minutes but definitely less than 10 mins in the room with Bill and the HR person. Very relaxing just talking to HR staff while we all wait our turn to go to interview. Compass testing is not tough to study for. I used practice... Continue reading this interview experience

  7. Jul 13, 2021 Same as stated above! They want to hire you. Dress to impress and study up on the compass... Continue reading this interview experience

  8. Jul 13, 2021 All the recent gouge on here is spot on. Kudos to all that have provided it. There is literally nothing I can add. After reading everything here there was nothing that blindsided me or that I didn't expect. What would I do differently? I would study longer for the math, ATP, and verbal reasoning portions of the compass as those are the areas I didn't feel all that great about afterwards. For the rest of the compass, all the cognitive portions that is, it's just nice to see it once before you... Continue reading this interview experience

  9. Jul 13, 2021 Interview was as advertised on this group. They are great people and really want and need to hire you. As stated on here before, if you make it to Ypsilanti, the job is yours to lose! They already know that you can fly so be friendly, ask questions and just be yourself. Brush up on basic math skills and SA with attitude indicator, compass and NDB. The face to face interview panel will not give you any indication that they like you or want to hire you, they were stone faced and asked... Continue reading this interview experience

  10. Jun 29, 2021 This place is fantastic. The interview was exactly as posted by other users and really made a positive impression. I have nothing to add other than to say well done... Continue reading this interview experience
