Interview was very similar to what was described. Everyone very nice and welcoming. A Kalitta shuttle picks you up at ~745 am from the Holiday Inn Express. You say a quick 'hi' to the HR room, before they bring you to an upstairs classroom which is basically the holding tank while you wait for the various parts of the interview to take place. This room was very well catered....muffins, croissants, Danishes, fruits, drinks. There were a couple HR folks who were with us the entire day, plus various Kalitta training / management people would pop in periodically to say hi and mingle. There was also a very nice catered lunch from a local sub shop that was delivered at noon. The... Continue Reading this Interview Experience

  1. Nov 07, 2023 The gouge was spot on. I was interviewed by the chief pilot and HR. They were very professional and the interview was more of a conversation than an interview. I believe I asked more questions than either of them. There was a pre-interview a week earlier where I was asked a list of expected questions. I can not recall them but there would be no need to prepare for them as they were very straight forward standard questions of any interview. As with any interview you need to present... 2. Nov 01, 2023 Very relaxed, they just want to know if you’re willing to work in with their kind of flying and roster. 16-17 on and 13-14 off with almost all long haul flying. Aircraft choice is up to you but also depends how soon you want to start so if one is available for a class date sooner and that’s what you want then be sure to mention. Extremely friendly people and all around great experience. No technical questions asked, very basic HR... Continue reading this interview experience

  3. Oct 11, 2023 Very Straightforward interviews. First telephone interview with manager of flight standards. Usual HR questions. Mostly get to know you, verify your experience and learn what you are looking for. Second zoom interview set up with HR person and chief pilot a week later. Chief pilot couldn't make it on the day so second interview with HR. Talked through when I could start and answered any questions I had. Formal offer arrived a couple of days later. Super friendly and one of the most... Continue reading this interview experience

  4. Oct 08, 2023 Saw the Kalitta Air booth at RTAG and provided my resume. I had an interview with the company the next day. They were very professional and very proud of their company. They did not ask me any technical questions. Asked about my background, why I was interested in Kalitta Air. Got the feeling half the interview was them trying to figure out if I would be comfortable in their system (I believe it is 16 days on, 14 days off.) Still waiting to hear back. Not much you can prepare for it. Just be... Continue reading this interview experience

  5. Sep 27, 2023 Easy peasy; it took 10 minutes on Teams. Just be yourself. Keep it positive. Why do you what to join Kalitta Air? Tell me about your training and/or checking event failures. Take responsibility for the things that didn't go as desired in life. For you younger people, it may not have happened yet, but give it time. Life will unfairly disappoint you. Just be the responsible party and keep trying. The interviewing team will respect... Continue reading this interview experience

  6. Sep 06, 2023 Overall, a great interview experience. It was with the Chief Pilot and a member of HR. They are both very friendly, it feels more like a conversation than an interview. The gouge in the study guide is accurate. Be prepared to ask a question or two yourself when they offer. I would highly recommend getting someone inside the company to submit your resume on your behalf, if you know someone there, to speed things up. Best of luck. My friends working there seem very happy and I hope I will be... Continue reading this interview experience

  7. Aug 16, 2023 Was emailed by Meghan about a week after submitting my application. We set up a quick phone call where she asked the very basic questions about my experience level, what interested me about Kalitta and if I had any check ride failures. Nothing too out of the blue. She offered me an interview later that day (it was Wednesday and they do their interviews every Wednesday virtually) I set mine up for two weeks from then in order to get a few more things prepared. Two days prior to the... Continue reading this interview experience

  8. Jul 18, 2023 I had a great experience. Extremely fast paced. I also have a few pilot buddies at this company, and have heard the ins and outs of the job for many years. One of them wrote a powerful LOR for me, which I believe helped a bit. I'm currently at one of the better regionals and have some Alaska time behind me, as well as having already experienced the similar schedule, so it'll be a fairly easy transition for me. The questions/interview were identical to what people here have already mentioned.... Continue reading this interview experience

  9. Jun 23, 2023 5 min phone interview with HR nice woman (why Kalitta, any failure/violations, anything we should know about?). She gave me some options for the video interview. One week before the interview another e-mail like a reminder. Skype interview lasted around 5 min with chief pilot and HR representative (same questions of the phone interview). HR representative very friendly. Overall fast and nice... Continue reading this interview experience

  10. Jun 09, 2023 Did not hear anything from Kalitta for 6 months since I applied online but they called me right after a friend of mine brought my papers to the chief pilot at the office. 5 min phone interview with one of the chief pilots and 5 min Zoom interview with basic HR questions, like why Kalitta, any training failures, why did you leave your previous company, which fleet do you...
