FREE Kalitta Air pilot interview information and gouge

Interview was very similar to what was described. Everyone very nice and welcoming. A Kalitta shuttle picks you up at ~745 am from the Holiday Inn Express. You say a quick 'hi' to the HR room, before they bring you to an upstairs classroom which is basically the holding tank while you wait for the various parts of the interview to take place. This room was very well catered....muffins, croissants, Danishes, fruits, drinks. There were a couple HR folks who were with us the entire day, plus various Kalitta training / management people would pop in periodically to say hi and mingle. There was also a very nice catered lunch from a local sub shop that was delivered at noon. The... Continue Reading this Interview Experience

  1. Jun 08, 2021 Arrived the night before. Grabbed breakfast at the hotel and met with some of the other interviewees. Van ride was by a K4 employee so the interview starts when you get in the van. We broke into 2 groups. Mostly pilots with heavy, international experience, but not all. 2 regional pilots, at least 1 corporate, 1 military and a few Supplemental carrier pilots. I did the Compass Test first. It runs easier than the practice tests online, but the flying part was a little artificial. Just do... Continue reading this interview experience

  2. Jun 08, 2021 Arrived at the hotel the night before. I was surprised to see that they give you a hotel for 2 nights. The morning of the interview you get shuttled to interview at their training center. As soon as you arrive the interview process starts. The whole process is extremely relaxed. Everything was exactly as described on here. Group splits in half and half goes to to the compass test while the other group interviews. After your catered lunch you switch. Afterwards they shuttle you back to the... Continue reading this interview experience

  3. Jun 08, 2021 First got an initial phone call where I was asked very few simple questions. They gave me the option for two interview dates which I selected the first one. That interview date was about two weeks after the phone call. In between the phone call and interview I received couple of emails of what docs to bring in site and instructions on performing a drug text before going to the interview. They do not fly you in but they pick you up from the airport and provide two nights on a hotel where... Continue reading this interview experience

  4. May 04, 2021 Your on your own to get to DTW, once your there Kalitta puts you up in a nice hotel with shuttle service. The Kalitta van picks you up at 0845 in the lobby for the interviews once at the Kalitta building my interview class was divided in half. One half did the compass testing in the AM while the other half did the panel interview. We all met back up for the catered lunch they provided us then swapped for the remainder of the day. The panel interview was about 5-10 minutes long and easy. The... Continue reading this interview experience

  5. May 04, 2021 Same as posted: Left Hotel at 8:40 2 Vans, 16 applicants, split into two groups. Interview group or compass test group. then switch after lunch. The compass test takes 3 hours. Interview takes 10-20 minutes. 3 people in the room. 2 pilots, 1 HR. Be prepared, Be yourself, Be Genuine. K4 knows what they want. Be ready for an obscure question. I know, how do you prepare for that, you can't! Just don't be surprised. If you know it you know the answer, you know it, if you don't be honest.... Continue reading this interview experience

  6. May 04, 2021 15 total showed up mostly guys with heavy jet and international time. 4 of us were 121 regional guys. Started off with intro and flying background. HR gave a brief overview of the company. We then split off into 2 groups. One group went off to do the HR interview, second group went to do the compass test. As previously stated the compass test comprised basic coordination using a joystick and rudder pedals, orientation, verbal reasoning, math 24 questions (long division, percentages,... 7. May 04, 2021 It was exactly as it was explained on here. Hotel shuttle. They have coffee and water and snacks while you wait. Sounds like good things are happening with Kalitta. 2 parts. Easy going panel and the compass. Not much you can do to prep for the compass. The stick and rudder is touchy but simply use those skills you’ve already got and put em to good use. You’ll be fine. Otherwise some math and general knowledge questions. Quite straight forward. Very relaxed atmosphere and... Continue reading this interview experience

  8. May 04, 2021 Kalitta Air provides a hotel room at Towne Place in Belleville, MI. They send two 15 passenger vans to pick up all the guys from the hotel; it's a 5 minute drive. They bring you in to the building and take you upstairs and into a classroom. After about 5 minutes HR comes in and they start talking to you. They are all very, very friendly people! They ask you to introduce yourself; name and what company are you coming from, just a brief introduction. There was 16 of us and we all stood... Continue reading this interview experience

  9. Apr 13, 2021 Interview process started at 9am. One of the employees picked us up in a Kalitta van which drove us the 5 minutes to their Kalitta Charter and in-house operating center. There were 13 of us in total, only 3 of us not having heavy time as some were Expats who got furloughed or fired from places like Avianca or other respective airlines during COVID (I'm mentioning this because I did not have any heavy time and only flew in the regionals, so it seems like you're under qualified from the... 10. Mar 09, 2021 Interview was easy and seemed like a great company. I don’t think I had the international experience or a history of extended length trips that would have made them feel comfortable hiring me. Aptitude test as previously described. Aptitude test means compass test by the way. Joystick and rudder pedals to follow FD and slip skid. Some math questions. Long division, multiplication, percentages, decimals, one geometry question, basic algebra. If Y = 7 whats the value of X style Of... Continue reading this interview experience
