Read Page 1 ... describe "having the runway environment in sight", versus just saying that. In my defense, I had moved across the country to run a flight school as the sole CFI teaching only private students and unfortunately did not prepare exhaustively, which is my fault. Overall, I suppose I just didn't get a perfect score on the technical and perhaps the HR (they don't tell you) and there are enough applicants that got perfect scores that I just...

The interview started with a short HR portion (approx. 15 minutes). (view the study guide of this website). The technical portion (approx. 30 minutes) began with interpreting a METAR and TAF, then questions. Had me brief a Jeppesen approach chart, including identifying key symbology. There were also general airspace and speed limit questions. along with some basic aerodynamics. Overall, the technical questions were very straightforward and closely aligned with the... -

Interview was 25 minutes. 10 minutes for the HR portion. Very nice interviewers. Asked about why cadet, my timeline to ATP mins, good qualities of an FO, (view the study guide of this website). Then the technical portion. Plate and wx was sent right when the interview started. A scenario based format was used. From takeoff to landing he asked questions. He provided a time and from the TAF I selected a timeframe and decided whether I needed an alternate. Asked about runway lighting.... -

Overall, the interview was very straightforward. It started off with HR asking personal questions (like work eligibility and timeline until ATP minimums) and then some TMAAT questions. Questions about the company were also asked, for example: how many bases do they have, what are your three favorite bases, what type of aircraft we fly, etc. The study guide helped a lot for the whole thing. After that, the interview with the pilot started, and he asked technical questions, most of them were... -

The interview was very straightforward! They started with basic HR questions that lasted 10-15 minutes, such as are you legal to work in the US and briefly explain a checkride failure if you have one. Then HR asked some questions to get to know you. Just be open and confident! If you're a flight instructor, they will probably ask a couple of questions regarding how you handle difficult students and scenarios. They do their best to frame the questions towards the phase of training that you're... -

Overall, the interviewers were very friendly. Definitely be personable, and ask questions. They are looking to see if you are someone they'd want to share time in the cockpit with. They've reviewed your resume and qualifications, so the main focus of the interview is getting to know your character. Don't forget to smile!! (view the study guide of this website). I was asked questions I remember from my interview: Be able to read a METAR (especially remarks) and TAF Know IFR vs VFR... -
