2013 Scholarship Winners

Bryan Weis received a $3,000 scholarship

(Email from Bryan):
Mike,
I can not begin thank you enough for selecting me as a winner of this years Aviationinterviews.com scholarship. Your generosity and willingness to support SIU's aviation students is a great testament to how amazing the SIU aviation family really is. You and your families pay it forward attitude has helped so many aviation students in the past, but most importantly, given us all a role model and motto to live up to. Knowing how expensive flight training is and how many students dreams you have been able to help assist in becoming reality, I hope one day to be able to give back to SIU and flight students the way you have.
Winning this scholarship will allow me to begin working toward my Flight Instructor Certificate. Becoming a flight instructor will help me build my aviation experience while helping others along the way. Again, thank you so much for helping me become one step closer to accomplishing my goals and obtaining my dream of being a professional pilot. I look forward to keeping in touch with you and Brian.
Sincerely,
Bryan Weis

Jacob Schwarz received a $1,000 scholarship

(Email from Jacob):
Dear Mike,
I would first like to express my gratitude and thanks in choosing me as one of the recipients of the 2013 Aviationinterviews.com Scholarship. I am unable to put into words how much this award means to me not only in a financial aspect, but also as a source of pride and honor. Through your generosity and willingness to give back, I will be able to continue my flight training, and this scholarship will aid in the payment of the flight instructor course where I hope to earn my CFI. It is hard to fathom how much you have truly given back to this university, and I am always astounded each year at the banquet by the amount of funds you award to what most people would consider strangers. Having people like you makes it possible for students to follow their passion and make their dream a reality. In the application for this scholarship you said that if you ever had the ability to give back, you would, and one day I hope to give back as much as you have given to the students. Once again thank you very much!!
Sincerely,
Jacob Schwarz
