  • The interview started off with introductions. He was very chill and made the whole thing feel easy and like a conversation. He then asked the basic things he needed to, such as flight times in the last 30/60/90 days and 12 months. Then asked if I was willing to be on reserve and fly my assigned schedule. After those "gotta ask" questions we moved into HR. He asked "why did you choose SkyWest" and "Tell me a about time when you felt uncomfortable in an airplane." He asked what would be some of the biggest differences or changes at SkyWest compared to my current job. We then moved into the technical portion. He asked about "descend via the STAR" clearances and how to comply. He asked about holding speeds and speed limits in class E under the Bravo and...

1.5 hours, asked about my current electrical system, turbine theory, aerodynamics including swept wing, Dutch roll, and coffin corner. Decoded a metar and a taf determine if we need alternate, went through a CRM situation with a passenger in the back who was sick. General HR questions are all on the website, no surprises the whole...

Interview was very straightforward, everything on the study guide on this website. Began with HR portion, asked about myself, biggest challenges in training, tell me a good and bad experience I had with a student since I was CFI. Technical questions about IFR and basic aerodynamics were tied into the scenario. One big scenario from departure to the destination. Interview lasted one hour and 15 minutes. Heard back from my recruiter in 10 days with the good...

My interview experience was plagued with technical issues. My internet connection, equipment (tried three different computers) checked out, but the connection was below dial up standards of quality. I had to hold up sticky notes to answer the interviewers questions and we both had to reboot our computers several times during the interview. I have fiber optic internet. Apart from this distraction of comical proportions, the process was straight forward and conversational. The study guides are...

Met with only 1 First Officer. Started with an overview and then introductions that lasted about 15-25 minutes. This set the stage and calmed the nerves. We then started with hours and logbook times. I didn't quite have instrument time (without any simulator instrument time) ready and he let me find that real quick with my digital logbook. After hours and confirming checkride dates/failures, he asked me "Why SkyWest?" and then after that we went right into a scenario. I was the...

Interviewed with a younger FO. He was super nice and we got right into the interview. In my email they said it would be 2.5 hours but the interview only ended up being 1.5, and he said that was the norm. I would make sure you go on the SkyWest website and pick 1 or 2 of their core values that resonate with you the most. I had to get him to pull these up because I could not remember and did not want to make up an answer. Be ready with that basic knowledge of the company. He went right into...

Interview was just as others has talked about, but mine was scheduled as you were flying from Chicago Midway to New York and started with the the dispatching rules, then talked about the walk around which is when the aerodynamics discussion came. This moved towards systems of the aircraft and abnormal engine starts. Moved towards the jeppesen charts and the approach requirements. Then moved toward the runway environment and taxi charts. Finished off with questions. Interviewer was relax and...

The interview started off with the pilot and I exchanging introductions. The atmosphere was relaxed, partly because no HR representative was present. He began by inquiring about my flight hours over the past 30, 60, 90, and 12 months, including PIC time, night flying, cross-country, multi-engine, and total hours. Preparing these totals in advance definitely showcased my readiness. He proceeded with some preliminary questions, such as if there was anything I wished to disclose that...

The interview was very laid back with a highly experienced Captain at SkyWest. The interview lasted 3 hours. The HR Questions, (view the study guide of this website).  On the technical side, topics were wide ranging: Piper Seminole Systems,   Know your Jep Charts, how to brief SIDs, STARS, and Approaches, plus all the symbols you might see. Know your METAR/TAF codes, how to read them and be able to determine if you would need an alternate if you were flying to the airport...

He asked why SkyWest and where I see myself in 5 years I hit on some of the guiding principles in my response. He Recommended that I consider the training department if hired. Afterwards we went right into technical. He asked me to decode a TAF then a METAR. Asked about lenticular clouds as well as molecule of air through turbine engine. I got very...
