  • Everything mentioned in the prior experience reports have been spot on. Arrived at HQ, got checked in and chatted with random pilots in passing. Everyone was extremely kind, really. We got started right on time, dropped off our logbooks, walked past the DC3 where the interviews conducted, through the museum and into the movie theater. The video is epic. If you weren't sure about wanting to work at American before, you will be after. Then came the interview. Two interviewers come and take you to a table, they provide you with a pen and piece of paper with aids to help...

HR Interview: Started with FTN#, Original logbook (yes/no), Accidents/incidents (yes/no), Failed check rides (stage checks, etc yes/no/details), Availability, and then questions. You have a lot of options, why American? What would you do outside work if you werenâ??t in aviation? Tell me about a customer experience outside the flight deck, what motivated you, what was the impact? How do you foster communication in the flight deck? Plane on the runway, ATC tells you to go around, what do you...

HR was spot on with this gouge Day of interview had no surprises. Had 3 wwyd and 3 tmat. It's the most informal of the major interview processes they just want you to relax so they can determine if they can live with you on the road for a few...

The interview is similar to as described on here. The recruiters do a good job of making you feel relaxed on the day but this is by no means an easy interview. The standard WWYD scenario questions listed on here but be prepared to have a long, educated conversation with the recruiters regarding highlights of your career and how you made a difference. Overall just over an hour of one-on-one time with the two AA pilots to really sell yourself. My one piece of advise is to not memorize answers...

I was asked a few HR type questions, Study the questions here on AviationInterviews and  you'll be fine. Get all log books in order and make sure totals match your application. Use a binder for electronic printing you won't regret it. Must have tail numbers in all lines of logbook don't waste your time or theirs if not. Be personable and keep a smile. Good...

Previous info on the general process and flow of the day is spot on. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. Great experience.  I got asked questions, (view the study guide of this website).  Then Technical scenario. There was a couple of follow up questions during the process but the actual interview was probably 20 minutes. 10 of 13 received...

I wore a pin striped suit and western boots to the interview. It got a lot of attention with them being a Dallas HQ company. The head of HR at one point exclaimed â??heâ??s wearing a black suit and boots, heâ??s the only one here not afraid of usâ?. One of the pilots in my panel interview had seen me walk in wearing the boots from my car and approached me prior to interviewing me so I had 5 mins of face time with him prior to even entering the building. YMMV Interview was very laid...

None of the questions were a surprise they were all on here. Study for the HR phone call. HR phone call was TMAY, 2 TMAAT, and a WWYD. The day of the interview I was asked about 10 questions. TMAAY, 6 TMAAT, and 3 WWYD. The interview took an hour. They did a great job at making you feel relaxed. Great...

Very similar experience to whatâ??s described here. Was asked, tell me about yourself, TMAAT when communication was lost in the flight deck, What are some characteristics and qualities of a good captain, As a captain how would you prepare for a flight to a destination that you and your FO has not flown into, TMAAT someone didnâ??t follow SOPs and how you handled it. Then a Scenario question, (view the study guide of this...

Overall the process was straightforward. To begin, I received a phone call from a hiring rep to discuss my application. I had some timeline issues that they wanted squared away before receiving an invite. Specifically, they wanted my education history also listed under the employment history section for the timeline to populate correctly. Shortly after that I received the invitation to interview and selected a date for the HR interview. Be sure to complete the personality ("work traits")...
