We've Aviation Professionals Prepare for their Interviews!
  • Everything mentioned in the prior experience reports have been spot on. Arrived at HQ, got checked in and chatted with random pilots in passing. Everyone was extremely kind, really. We got started right on time, dropped off our logbooks, walked past the DC3 where the interviews conducted, through the museum and into the movie theater. The video is epic. If you weren't sure about wanting to work at American before, you will be after. Then came the interview. Two interviewers come and take you to a table, they provide you with a pen and piece of paper with aids to help...

The day started with a 12pm van for a 1:30pm interview. There were 11 people in our group and there was a lot of standing around and making small talk amongst ourselves. It seemed important to be sociable throughout the day with the others in your group. We dropped our bags in the lobby area then proceeded to another room where we had our identification and credentials reviewed and we gave up our logbooks for review. Next, we went into the museum to watch a 20 minute...

As everyone here has said study the guide on this page. It covers most if not all of what you'll be asked. We met at the hotel. There were eleven of us total picked up and taken to the American Airlines facility. We lined up and got badges and then waited by the baggage cubbies. The mix of pilots were one military, one 135 and the rest 121. We were greeted and taken over to have our documents checked against the documents we uploaded, ATP, Medical, Driver License, FCC, Passport. At that...

Same as what everybody has said on here. Great Interview experience. They really try to get you to relax. Just be yourself and personable. They just wanna see if they can fly with you on a trip. TMAY. 3 TMAAT questions and i got 4 WWYD scenarios. All of which are on the study guide here. For the scenarios usually it doesnt matter what you pick to do just make sure you have a reason why and can explain your thought process and obviously be safe. Out of all of us only 3 didn't get it the CJO...

Info here was pretty much spot on. TMAAT questions, (view the study guide of this website). You're a 1000hr Capt flying with a 1000hr FO, who flies the first leg?  Make sure your logbooks are in order. I had old paper logs I barely used because I transitioned to electronic logbooks. I made sure they were totaled up and math corrections were made even though it was a little ugly. Coming from the military I had to made a few assumptions and averages for totals that weren't logged in the...

Amazing experience from start to finish. The questions here are quite useful and so is the description of the process. Be yourself, be humble, logbooks BETTER BE TIGHT, organized, tabbed, signed, neat. Toughest part is actually after interview while theyâ??re reviewing your log books, if you remain in waiting and see a large office staff coming to talk to you, you got the...

Everything was the way it was spelled out here and at my interview prep that I used. My interviewers did a great job of having me be relaxed and everything felt like a conversation. Be confident in yourself and trust the process that you worked toward.  Practice your stories over and over so you won't forget any details. Learn the STAR+L model if you haven't already and the TEF (Teach Empathize and Fix) model as well. They put a paper in front of you with how they want you to answer...

The experience matched this website spot on and every question asked was in some form on this site as others have said. HR online interview two weeks before in person interview. Very relaxed and was asked TMAY, why AA, and one TMAAT and two WWYD questions, (view the study guide of this website).  In person interview day, TMAY, 3 TMAAT, 3 WWYD questions. Everyone was friendly and it was a great experience overall. 14 applicants interviewed and 10 were offered CJO's on the spot,...
