FREE CommutAir pilot interview information and gouge

I interviewed via Skype which was a new experience for me. The HR portion was straight forward and began with a PowerPoint presentation of the company. Then we went into the Q&A about me and my background. They just want to know who you are. You do have to be Superman or Superwoman. Just be yourself and relax. Typical TMAT questions. The technical was also straight forward. I was given a metar and taf for KAVL. I was then given an ETA in local time for KAVL and asked questions. You’ll have to convert to Zulu time and decipher the TAF. The answer... Continue Reading this Interview Experience

  1. Mar 05, 2020 The interview was conducted online as I am in Australia. I was sent a link for the speed exam but it went straight to my spam folder, The  interview had already been scheduled so I completed that prior to doing the speed exam. The exam was a 40 question written online, you are given 45 min to complete it. I studied for the written test. The questions were mostly based on instrument and general knowledge. The interview was conducted with a recruiter and a line pilot, Jim and John, both... Continue reading this interview experience

  4. Feb 14, 2020 A couple days before the interview they send you a link to take a 40 question written online. You have 45 min to take the test and most the question come from the ATP written. The HR and technical interview was done online, most the technical questions were weather and Jeppesen plate related and the HR question were typical HR... Continue reading this interview experience

  5. Feb 01, 2020 The interview was conducted over Skype and definitely in line with previous gouge. I took the 40 question written online the day before and was given 45 min to complete it. I studied for the written test using Sheppard Air; however Sheppard Air ended up being a bit overkill and included a lot of information not included. The questions were mostly based on instrument knowledge. The interview was conducted with a recruiter and a line pilot, both of whom were extremely friendly and kind. As... 6. Jan 31, 2020 Interviewed with HR and FO via online. HR asked the typical "what would you do," type questions. Technical was conducted by company FO. Briefed a Jeppeson approach plate. Talked about some symbols on the chart. Read a METAR, and decided if we needed an alternate for the flight. Overall this was the best experience I've had with interviewing for a regional. Both interviewers were incredibly nice, and it really made me feel like this is where I want to work. After interview... Continue reading this interview experience

  7. Dec 19, 2019 Literally exactly like everyone else. Very easy. They want pilots!  Study gouge, practice HR questions and lastly be excited! No nervous, Skype was so easy. Know RVR, jepp plates, and 91.175. Be ready to explain stars, sids, Ils 27r kphl. Tell them you are all about safety and that you don’t want to work for anyone else except... 8. Nov 08, 2019 Give a synopsis of your aviation career in cliff notes.  Brought up the emergency procedure and asked some questions about CRM and if you would do anything differently? (view the study guide of this website).  Asked if I had any questions? Be prepared to ask questions. Answered questions about my current aircraft. Gear, Hyd,... 9. Sep 23, 2019 No surprises on the HR portion, very similar to what everyone has already mentioned. Be honest. In the technical portion I was asked some airspace questions, missed approach into KBWI, weather minimums, a certain waypoint from the airport how did I know the distance, if I got an updated Wx report after passing the FAF can I continue, talk to me about the aircraft you fly most, read METARS and... 10. The Skype interview is covered well in other experiences and was just as advertised but I noticed not many said much about the ATP test so I’m going to share a bit of info. The ATP test was more of IFR and basic flying questions. It’s timed to 45 min with 40 questions, you take it whenever you want it just has to be done before the Skype interview session. I forgot already the specific questions but I remember thinking if you’ve flown IFR or commercial you’d be able... Continue reading this interview experience
