  • The interview was exactly what you'd expect based on other experiences on here. Started off with just some small talk before the interviewer introduced himself and talked about his history and how he ended up doing interviews. The interviewer was a retired captain from Skywest. I introduced myself, then we got rolling with verifying paperwork. I needed to resubmit some things, like my CFI, since it expired between now and the original application date in January. We talked about my logbook, total time, PIC, multi-engine, night, instrument while in the actual airplane, 30/60/90 day, and 12-month flight times. Actual order after this was different, I'm just jotting down things I remember going over. Coffin corner, mach tuck, swept wing advantages and disadvantages, where does a swept wing stall at, how do we maintain roll...

Interviewed with a ERJ FO based out of SAN. Interview was quite straight forward, lasted about 50 minutes, starting with the recruiter telling me briefly about himself and then I told him about myself. Went through my flight times (ATP requirements, 30/60/90/365) and then started the HR portion. He asked me why I wanted to work for SKW, what guiding principles I knew (said he only needed one of them, health and safety first is the easiest to remember in my opinion), and what history I knew...

The interview was conducted by a really pleasant FO. Started off with the standard HR questions. CRM scenario was a flight where there was vibration in the engine, included and engine shutdown and diversion. Technical questions included Jepp chart knowledge (airport page, approach plates, SID). Weather included metar and TAF with a question on alternates (standard 1,2,3 rule.) Prog charts including warm and cold fronts. Aerodynamics - dutch roll, coffin corner, critical mach, mack tuck,...

Hello. About 20min before we started, the interviewer sent me the pictures of a plate/wx brief/airport signs to be used during the interview. We first went over PRD, checkride failures, recency, medical documents, stuff like that. Took less than 15 minutes. Older - but currently flying - captain, 20+ years with Skywest. Went right into by talking weather. First question was differences between METAR and ATIS; kind of flubbed it at first but talked my way out of the hole. METAR are hourly,...

I was part of the morning group. There are hotels very close by which makes it very convenient. The interview was pretty straight forward but definitely a bit intimidating. There were no reactions or facial expressions from the interview panel while I was giving my answers and they also liked to dig deep. After the interview was over, they stepped out of the room for 5 minutes until they came back with a green folder and welcoming you to F9. After that we had some lunch with them in the...

Relaxed environment, took about 45 minutes total. Interviewer was a young FO. Began with HR questions and asked what I knew about SkyWest, moved into CRM scenario - aft and forward lavs inop with a differed left pack. Stated another aircraft would not be available until the next morning at 6:00. Rejected the airplane and made a PA to the passengers informing them of the situation. Discussed the basics of a turbofan and centrifugal flow versus axial flow compressors. Discussed the electrical...

Interview was administered by an FO. It was a good experience. As everyone has said, the interviewer made it a reasonably relaxed environment. We started off with him telling about himself and then I introduced myself. We handled flight times and making sure that he had all of the up to date documents. Why SkyWest? We went into CRM, 2in2out. Technical questions including weather, high altitude aerodynamics, jet engines, systems on aircraft Iâ??ve flown. We went on to Jepp charts. Know the...

Interview was super straightforward like the others. Started with TT hours, minimums for ATP, last hours in 30/60/90days and 12 moths. HR questions, CRM scenarios (apply 2 in and 2 out), Weather, LONGest metar remarks I ever seen, but I knew how to decode 95% of them. Be honest if you do not know something let the interviewer know, they appreciate sincerity. Jeppesen Charts, IAP, STARs, 10-9, 10-9A. Part 121 take off and alternate minimums and exceptions. Memorize 91.175. Electric system...

Relaxed interview with retired Captain. We started with introductions and why I wanted to work for Skywest. He explained how the training goes and how to handle emergencies as well as basic CRM and SMS. METAR/TAF, JEPP charts including SID, STAR, ILS Approach, and 10-9. Requirements to land under IFR (know 91.175 and before and after FAF). Incident in flight remember 2 in 2 out. We went over turbofan engine components and high altitude aerodynamics (Mock tuck, coffin corner). Swept back...

Interview was with CRJ FO out of Denver. We jumped right into introductions. Then he asked gave me a scenario where both lavatories are not working and we were supposed to fly for 4 hours I said I wouldnâ??t go. After this he asked about 5-8 HR questions, we went straight into technical questions: METAR There were no surprises at all. The study guide is 100% accurate. He said I was prepared really well and interview lasted only 45...

Interview was super relaxed. First stared with introductions, interviewer talked for about 5 minutes, then I introduced myself. Talked about why do I want to work for Skywest, personal flying experiences etc. (view the study guide of this website).  After that, short technical portion, critical Mach, swept wings, aerodynamic, turbofan engines. He then pulled up some weather asked if we need an alternate, can we takeoff, then briefed ILS and star. Finished with some questions I had. Took...

  11. I used the study guide the most and I liked how everything is broken down into categories.
