Interview Info Study Guide Sim / Scenario All Companies
Interview started at 0830 in Salt Lake. Myself and three other applicants. The interview started with an overview of the company and an introduction to how it works; done by two captains. I was selected first to do the HR portion with one of the captains. Because I had gone to a Cadet experience the day before they brought me out of the overview of the company prior to it ending to do the HR portion. It was very relaxed. The captain had to do some errands so we walked and talked for part of it. The questions were about disagreements with previous bosses, what would be the hardest thing about joining Skywest, what aircraft would I prefer, etc... see that portion of the gauge for more info. He also... Continue Reading this Interview Experience

Mar 21, 2024 Very straight forward interview. Was part of the SkyWest cadet program so I did an interview prep which they played out the entire interview. Study guide helped a lot most of it was pretty basic knowledge about systems and... Continue reading this interview experience

Mar 20, 2024 Pretty straight forward. This website helps get knowledge of the questions that will be asked. Interview started with hardly any HR stuff, just an introduction really. Then followed by simple scenarios. From there we jumped into technical questions, Jep charts, alternates, swept back wings, crit Mach, Mach tuck, 91.175, turbofan vs turbojet engine, APU, how does APU start the engine, AC - DC, DC- AC, 123 rule, NAV1 NAV2. Overall caught me on one question, take off alternate. I knew it... Continue reading this interview experience

Mar 19, 2024 AviationInterviews was pretty spot on. Know all your logbook times and have them ready for the interviewer. Started with basic TMAAT (best and worst flight) then moved into technical. CRM, weather (clouds, fog, decode a METAR), Jet aerodynamics (Mach Crit, Mach Tuck, Coffin Corner), Multi Engine Aerodynamics (critical engine, PAST), Bleed air functions, Jepp plate information (Taxi diagrams, SID, Approach), then moved into the CRM scenario (engine fire on the SID). If you are a Skywest... Continue reading this interview experience

Mar 18, 2024 The interview was just like the previous experiences here. Started with introductions and the HR portion. “Why SkyWest?”. CRM scenario was focused on an unresponsive passenger and what I would do as the captain and pilot monitoring while enroute. The technical portion consisted of turbofan engine components, common jet engine starting malfunctions, high altitude aerodynamics, swept wings, Jeppesen charts, IFR regulations (91.175), and weather products/services (METAR, TAF,... Mar 14, 2024 Overall, the website was pretty much spot on. Started with house keeping information, flight hours and such. Mar 14, 2024 The interview went about how I thought it would. We started with log book totals, make sure you have your 30,60,90 and 12 month totals ready to go. He made it sound like they get irritated if you don’t and it will easily add 30 minutes to your interview. Then we went into basic HR questions like “tell me about yourself.” We then rolled into IFR technical questions pretty heavily to include holds, fuel considerations, briefing a jepp. Approach plate and what is a STAR. He... Continue reading this interview experience

Mar 13, 2024 Interview was very friendly, the interviewer made things very comfortable, more like “2 guys in a Hangar talking”, However it lasted 3 full hours of back and forth. First we started talking about my background and how i got into flying. He asked me why i wanted to fly for Skywest, then proceeded to ask me about my flying experience and questions about the airplane i fly. He touched on abit of all subjects, (view the study guide of this website). Know all symbols on Jepp charts.... Continue reading this interview experience

Mar 13, 2024 Overall, the interview I had was very smooth. Studying off this website prepared me more than enough for what I was asked. The interview was about an hour and a half total, but it went by really fast. I had to troubleshoot my camera not working right off the bat (don't use safari use chrome) and it ended up being a great way to break the ice. Make sure to look presentable as well, my interviewer even mentioned that it was appreciated that I looked like I wanted the job and was clean shaven.... Continue reading this interview experience
