The interview was about 2 1/2 hours in total. The interviewing pilot was a young FO and conducted all of the interview questions. Generally speaking none of the questions deviated from what I had seen so on AviationInterviews.com Key notes from the technical section: Know 91.175 It was a series of questions. Interviewer had me brief altitudes along STAR and also SIDs for Atlanta. Systems questions were high bypass engine and bleed air heavy. I was asked “I’m a molecule of air, make me go through the engine and out the back.” Know some items bleed air from the engine services. Have an understanding of engine malfunctions, I was asked about compressor stalls, hang starts and hot starts and how I thought I should respond to...

Overall a pleasant environment. It was only me and a retired Skywest pilot. He acknowledged that there will be items that I will not know especially since I don’t have 121 experience and have not flown a turbo fan aircraft. Started off with current flight hours and making sure my medical and certificates were all up to date. Afterwards we jumped into swept back wings and the pros/cons. (view the study guide of this website). Had a scenario of what I’ll do if the airport is... -

Started off getting to know each other. He went over his background at SkyWest and how long he was there for. I went over mine and why I wanted to work for SkyWest. Went over high altitude aerodynamics. Threat management as well as complacency. Talked about simple weather stuff that you should know from private pilot. Looked jepp charts then briefed an approach plate. Asked different things on the approach plate. Then ended with HR questions. The interview was very easy and laid back. It... -

The interview took about little over 2 hours. The interviewer was a FO and conducted all of the interview questions. We checked all the flight times and double checked documents. Little bit of ice breaking with introduction each others. Generally speaking, none of the questions deviated from other people’s interview. I got free turbine turboprop engine system question. I haven’t flown but I studied for fun, so that was not a big problem. I was asked about compressor stalls, hang... -

We started the interview by going over my logbook and verifying that the required times were recorded. Then we went through some TMAAT (Tell Me About a Time) scenarios- nothing too intense. Just be comfortable talking about yourself. If you're like me, this might be the hardest part. But really, just be confident- they know you're nervous, and that's okay. Show them you're someone they'd enjoy flying with. He also asked what resources I used to study, and if I took advantage of the Interview... -

When we started it kind of reminded me of the beginning of a checkride. He spent a long time talking about himself and his background at Skywest and making it a relaxed environment. He's worked for the company for over 27 years as a Captain. After this, he asked me about my background and how I got into aviation. Then we went through flight times. Total time, PIC, instrument, night, cross country, multi, last 30, last 90, last year... pretty much all of them. Just write down all of them, so... -

Interview started off open and relaxed. It was a great and fun experience. Current FO of about two years did my interview and she did a great job setting the scene. Let me know what would be entailed into the experience and what to expect. We started off with getting to know each other and talking about our backgrounds and how we got to where we are today. Not as much HR stuff as I expected, I tried to tie my initial conversations to why I wanna be at SkyWest and point out pros of the... -

The interview started out getting to know each other. We went over my logbook and verified/updated my hours along with my last 30/60/365 flight time. We then went into some questions about why I want to work at SkyWest, my current employment, and where I see myself in 5 years. I read a METAR and TAF and was asked if we needed an alternate and why. Make sure you practice reading these and be able to decipher even the smallest things like A02, the parts at the end with the exact temp...
