  • The interview was exactly what you'd expect based on other experiences on here. Started off with just some small talk before the interviewer introduced himself and talked about his history and how he ended up doing interviews. The interviewer was a retired captain from Skywest. I introduced myself, then we got rolling with verifying paperwork. I needed to resubmit some things, like my CFI, since it expired between now and the original application date in January. We talked about my logbook, total time, PIC, multi-engine, night, instrument while in the actual airplane, 30/60/90 day, and 12-month flight times. Actual order after this was different, I'm just jotting down things I remember going over. Coffin corner, mach tuck, swept wing advantages and disadvantages, where does a swept wing stall at, how do we maintain roll...

Started off with the interviewer telling me his story and his background with the company. We then went into the TMAAT questions, there was two of them. Next we covered high altitude aerodynamics, mach tuck, critmach, dutch roll, coffin corner, ect. Then moved on to airplane systems and jet engines. Spent a good amount of time talking about emergencies. Finally we covered a TAF and METAR, then applied those to our Jepp charts and used those to create our situation. Overall had a great...

90 minute Teams interview with a SkyWest FO. Started with introductions and background, followed by documents and a flight time review covering last 30/60/90/120/365 days. Have these times ready along with total XC, night, and multi engine time. Technical portion included METARs and TAFs, Jepp approach plate briefing, airport diagram symbology, high altitude aerodynamics, turbine engine basics, and general systems knowledge. CRM scenario as CA handling an inflight emergency with emphasis on...

All my answers were brief and concise, very surface level. Had to brief a STAR and Approach. Electrical systems of the plane I chose, airspace speeds, aerodynamics, etc everything was on this website. Very few HR or tell me about a time stories, really all I had to say was how I got into aviation. Lasted about...

The night before the interview I was emailed a release including metar and taf along with two jeppesen approach plates. I spent some time studying the plates and release and found a few things that were uncommon which did come up on the interview including visibility mins and GS intercept/FAF questions. We started with a brief conversation to get to know each other and our respective backgrounds as well as why SkyWest. For technical I was asked questions, (view the study guide of this...

Overall good experience lasted approx. 60 minutes. Started off with some HR, How'd you get into Aviation, Why Skywest ect. Then moved onto technical. High altitude aerodynamics, Engine, Bleed air, rectifier, your electrical system, holding speeds/airspace speeds, some METAR/TAFS, then Jepp App plates. CRM came after this, medical emergency. Make sure to take notes throughout for anything you weren't sure on or didn't know. Or for any questions you may have at the...

It was exactly everything that people said from the study guide. The interview will have a scenario where you are the captain and need to fix a situation that occur during v1 and they want to hear how you would go about fixing it. Be as detailed as possible. Then they ask you a decent amount of stuff on turbofan engines and Mach...

Interview was straightforward and simpler than what I thought, I used this study guide and I was very prepared. We started out with intros, then moved into systems on a 172. From there we went to high altitude aerodynamics, then how a jet engine works. We briefed an ils and then do a simple crm...

I was nervous during studying and at the beginning of the interview but the recruiter was super nice guy (3 years FO ERJ) and overall did a great job with breaking the ice and it was very laid back interview. Asked about airport markings, EMAS, and all the house cleaning questions. CRM questions.   I felt I could have done better but at the end I gave hime the answer he was looking for. Good luck to...

Had my SkyWest interview with a retired SkyWest Airlines captain who was very conversational and liked to teach; he started by sharing his career. (view the study guide of this website).  Went into a detailed review of flight times (total, PIC, XC, night, multi, instrument excluding sim, and 30/60/90/365-day recency). He asked questions. There was a heavy emphasis on CRM and TEMâ??definitions, anticipated vs unanticipated threats, time vs no-time threatsâ??with multiple scenarios that...

Fairly comfortable experience. The interviewer and I were able to relate based off endurance shared interests. We discussed a lot about ourself for the first 45 minutes and then broke into a review of some of the following: Turbojet engine components and principles of operation, bleed air uses, bypass air functions, mack buffet and tuck, swept wings and their benefits and draw backs. We also discussed TAF and Metar data off of the provided dispatch sheet which was then applied to 2 separate...
